SERVICES

Advice on the import and export of goods

We provide comprehensive support for your foreign trade operations to ensure regulatory compliance and optimize your operating costs through the following services:

  • Customs planning: Design of strategies to optimize your import and export processes.
  • Free Trade Agreements: Application and utilization of current tariff benefits.
  • Duty drawback: Management for the recovery of paid customs duties.
  • Capital goods: Specialized advice on the entry of machinery and fixed assets.
  • Legal reports: Preparation of technical opinions and legal analyses.
  • Temporary admission and suspensive regimes: Authorizations, extensions, and other customs procedures.

Rule 1: Joint classification of goods

Optimize timelines and reduce customs duties when processing your operations. The so-called "Rule 1" allows importers to declare and bring into the country large-scale capital goods or machinery combinations that constitute a functional unit, whose parts, pieces, or components must arrive in Chile in fractions, in installments, and over deferred periods due to their volume, logistical complexity, or manufacturing requirements. We advise you and prepare the application for this benefit before the National Customs Service.

VAT exemption on the import of goods

You are exempt from paying VAT on the import of capital goods required for the operation of an investment project in Chile if the project value is equal to or greater than USD 5,000,000. This includes the import of parts, pieces, spare parts, and/or accessories included in the project plan.

Export service qualification

If you provide services from Chile to foreign countries, we analyze whether they qualify as export services as determined by Customs. If they do, we prepare, submit, and track the qualification application. As a primary benefit, you will be able to issue export invoices exempt from Value Added Tax (19%) on the income received, and you can recover the VAT charged when purchasing goods or contracting services necessary to carry out the export. This makes your prices more affordable and competitive for your clients abroad.

Waiver of Criminal Prosecution

Processing and negotiation of the Waiver of Public Action before the National Customs Service (SNA) in cases of alleged customs offenses such as smuggling, allowing for the early termination of the conflict through the payment of a reduced fine or its complete dismissal.

Reasonable Doubt Procedure

When Customs formally questions the declared transaction value of your goods (Reasonable Doubt regarding Value). We handle the structuring, compilation, and submission of the evidentiary file required by the authority to justify the price actually paid.

Authorized Economic Operator Certification

Certified companies will enjoy benefits such as:

  1. Deferred payment of customs duties for importers.
  2. Significant reduction in inspection channels (physical and documentary).
  3. Exclusive points of contact (AEO advocates) within Customs to resolve issues expeditiously.
  4. Exemption from proof of origin.

We advise you on preparing your company to apply for this certification. We provide training, procedural corrections, and risk management, and we support you throughout the process with the National Customs Service in the event of any observations.
